Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS University) is a private university focused on medical and health-related science programs and located in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area of Boston, Massachusetts. The university provides traditional and accelerated programs of study focused on professional education in pharmacy and the health sciences. Since 2000, MCPHS University has expanded to include two additional campuses, located in Worcester, Massachusetts, and Manchester, New Hampshire.

A former student said this on Niche "Overall, I wish I had taken a gap year or applied to more colleges. MCPHS was my last resort, and for a good reason. Teachers couldn’t care less, dorms are gross, food is unhealthy and greasy, there’s a large number of rude staff and students, and it’s way too expensive for what you get. I had to teach myself 90% of the material this year... I’m super glad to be transferring next fall. Also, don’t expect to join any sports or greek housing, because the student life here doesn’t exist".

"Home office was Boston. There was often a lot of confusion between the Manchester Campus and the Boston Campus. I worked with some wonderful Nurses. Communication with upper management was not good. Cons: Lack of proper communications between campuses was a problem. Upper management micro-managed, from a distant campus, and this just did not work out well."

"As an Academic Tutor and a Teaching Assistant at MCPHS University, I couldn't help but notice that I stood out. Other tutors referred students to me because they did not actually know the content they were hired to assist in teaching, and I was the only teaching assistant that seemed to actually assist in teaching. The result was usually that during the few hours I received (which were hours that I picked out, but not all the hours that I picked out) I was swamped with work while others did virtually nothing. I was one of the highest paid tutors because the school knew I outworked everybody else, but aside for my last year, my pay while at the school was lousy. Cons: Usually poor pay"

"Working at MCPHS has its advantages and disadvantages. The school pays quite well and has excellent benefits (pension, parking and/or MBTA subsidy, affordable healthcare, extensive time off). It is a school that focuses heavily on the bottom line, i.e. enrollment/tuition dollars. This is entirely understandable in today's market. They do move very quickly in that they are regularly rolling out new programs without always crossing the T's and doting the I's. They also sometimes push programs to enroll more students than they really should in order to maximize the enrollment. Again, this makes sense given the current market. At times, however, this aggressive enrollment strategy backfires and results in over-enrolled programs that push accreditation limits."
